A 1962 reprint of a work which first appeared in an Everyman's Library edition in 1906. Sir Walter Scott's famous historical novel is one in the Waverley series, and first published in 1817. Set against the Jacobite rising of 1715, it is very loosely based on the life of Scottish outlaw and folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor. Includes a preface by W. M. Parker, as well as appendix with Scott's introduction and a glossary of archaic terms. Entry 142 in Everyman's Library fiction series. --- In Everyman's Library larger format binding style 4. Full green cloth-covered boards with coppery gilt spine titling and interlocked "EL" at tail of spine; orange topstain.
