The wagon road connected Fort Benton in north-central Montana and Fort Macleod in present-day Alberta. It was a key means by which goods were transported into Canada, until railroads made it obsolete. With numerous drawings by Charles M. Russell, a map and two sections of plates bearing black & white photos of people and scenes.
