A later printing of the second of the famous Oz books by L. Frank Baum in a damaged copy. This work first appeared in 1904 under the title "The Marvelous Land of Oz." This stated "Popular Edition" bears 1904 date, but likely published c.1924-34 (per Bienvenue p.26). With a single uncaptioned frontis color plate and also illustrated throughout in black & white by John R. Neill. --- In light blue cloth-covered boards with color Neill illustration pasted to cover. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- A Poor-only copy with damages and is priced accordingly: backstrip is missing,front & rear hinges cracked, prior owner's signature to front endpaper and a child has used crayon to 'fill in' several of the black & white illustrations.
